Editors Note:
Missy here! I just wanted to say that Laura's session was incredibly unique for me as a photographer because it's pretty rare to have someone become a close friend in such a short period of time, at least for me.
While we met at a Meet and Greet that I was hosting at Brew, we ended up bonding over the whole experience and she's now a "best friend" on snap chat. We text and call each other and we have similar passions in life.
I really love how loyal she is as a friend and how fiercely she has grown into the woman she is today.
She's become this strong, beautiful, bad ass. She's funny, giving, and driven and strives to become a better person, daily.
I'm honored to be her friend and can't wait to see what more she does with her life.
Get it, girl.
I chose to do this for myself. Plain and simple.
I’ve always loved images of boudoir I’ve seen online and thought, “Maybe someday when I’m this, have this, look like this...” I thought I needed to have all these boxes and reasons checked off first before I could ever consider myself worthy of doing a session like this.
What a joke.
All I needed was me.
I met missy in August of 2017 at an informational get together at Brew in Jasper. Her passion and personality sold me first, then her Booty Bank took it over the edge. I could book my session, pay if off as I went and at the end have a collection of photos I’m so incredibly in love with and equally proud of.
My body isn’t something I love, as is the case for most women. I had hoped by the time my session rolled around I could give Kendall Jenner a run for her money. That wasn’t the case by that afternoon in mid September of 2018, and likely for me won’t ever be. Missy knows women and understands bodies. She poses you in a way that accentuates everything you love and minimizes things you’re less than thrilled about. It took one quick, “hey, I don’t want this and this shown in my pictures,” message to Missy and it was never an issue.
Hanging out with a small group of strong, wonderful women that day was the best.
The hair and makeup artist was so funny and easy going and I, being someone who never does much with hair and makeup at home,
had full confidence in her choices for colors that would work best for me.
I was also able to have a friend who did her session a few months before me there.
Of course, Missy behind the camera was the cream on top!
Now that I've completed my session in full, I’m so ready for my next session! I’ve already planned to do a session after I hit my goal weight. I would recommend Missy because she is kind, funny, smart and impossibly driven. Her photographs are her art and passion. I’m truly lucky I get to call her my friend!
